No amount of commentary or sermon audio can replace the work of the Holy Spirit when we simply open God's Word and meditate on it. Before we spend time in the resources for this study, let's open our Bibles each day and prayerfully read God's Word for ourselves.
For each session, our study materials are broken down this way: (i) a message from RC Sproul covering our text for the session; and (ii) several shorter, devotional studies from John Piper's "Look at the Book" series, The Greatest Chapter (usually around 8-10 minutes each). Each week will have a few framing questions that we'll keep in mind as we study. Let's commit to setting aside time each week to learn from Dr. Sproul, and to spend a few minutes each day diving deeper into God's Word with Piper.
Our time on Saturday mornings is the culmination of the work done between sessions. These gatherings are an opportunity for us to share what the Spirit has been revealing to us through God's Word, and to sharpen and encourage and build each other up. Come having done the work, ready to bring your questions and comments!
